January is definetely a good month to be in Paris. Ur not overwhelmed by the tourist crowd, can actually hear french at the bistros...An absolute must: the bar on the top floor of Kenzo's store, the "Kong" (on the photo). Superb view over Pont Neuf, nice music (electronic, chill, lounge) and nicely decorated (a bit of orange too much but lots of oriental motifs like the stereograms on the chairs).
If you're set to Versailles to see the gardens, they're naked...(it's still winter, so stick to the palace visit :-)
In Montmartre, where we stayed, we discovered a jazz-bar with a real pianist looking like Monsieur Leclerc from "Allô, Allô"... he was playing on demand, having thousands of music scores to pick from!! I don't remember exactly the name of the place, but just cross the bridge over the cemitery and take the first street to your right until you find a square, it's around there.
The +3 degrees in Paris are much colder than the +3 in Sthlm...
Lisa has a french friend called Arnaud and he plays the violin in an orchestra. Praxis, it's a good contact for you! I can put you two guys in touch!
